The Youth AI Lab aims to make machine learning more accessible to today’s youth, the pioneers and problem solvers of the next generation. Through our programs, students can learn through peer-to-peer mentoring, hear from experts at the forefront of AI in academia and industry, and connect with others interested in working on meaningful AI projects. We hope to foster young enthusiasts who can use AI ethically to solve the world’s problems.

Melinda Shu is a high school sophomore at Concordia International Shanghai currently focusing on exploring different aspects of ML. She’s keen to help support other students who are also diving into ML learn in the most efficient way possible.

Andrew Liu is a junior at Abbey Park High in Oakville, Ontario. He is intrigued by AI’s implementations in finance and economics. Andrew hopes to further democratize AI resources for his fellow students through influential writing.

Content Writer
Madeline is a current sophomore at Saratoga High School in San Jose, CA. She looks at the scope of AI in chemical research and engineering. As a content writer, she places emphasis on genial writing that encourages exploration.

Outreach Lead
Ainsley Wang is a sophomore at The Winsor School. She is interested in exploring how AI will be implemented in future global affairs and relations and hopes to share the practicality of different applications of AI and ML to students.

Graphic Design Lead
Hannah Mu is a sophomore at The Winsor School in Boston, MA and is passionate about robotics in addition to exploring the everyday usage of AI and ML. She is eager to help create easily accessible AI resources for all students joining her in learning more about modern AI.

Event Coordinator
Kaustubh Akhil Pullela is a sophomore at the Head-Royce School in Oakland, CA. He is eager to learn about how A.I. can revolutionize medicine and robotics. He hopes he can encourage his fellow high-schoolers to be apart of the technological revolution through Youth AI Lab.

Content Writer
Jaehun Baek is a junior at Lambert High School in Suwanee, GA. He is enthusiastic about development of strong artificial intelligence and its application in the service industry. He hopes to write on the profound discoveries of AI to stimulate student interest in the field.

Dr. Chenyang Xu is an esteemed IEEE fellow for his outstanding research and commercial contribution to the advancement of the AI field and healthcare. He serves as an advisor for the UCSF Health Hub, Berkeley, and the BME board of Johns Hopkins.

Dr. Liu is a Chair Professor at McGill University, and VP R&D, Chief Scientist, and Co-Director of the Samsung AI Center Montreal. He is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, an IEEE Fellow, ACM SIGBED Chair (’21-’23), and an associate member of Mila.

Dr. John Cohn is an IBM Fellow at the MIT-IBM Watson AI Lab. He has authored more than 30 technical papers, contributed to four books, and has more than 100 worldwide patents.

Dr. Song Han is an assistant professor at MIT EECS. Dr. Han’s research focuses on efficient deep learning computing, allowing powerful AI programs to run on low-power devices, such as mobile phones.
